Drydocks World has completed the conversion and integration of the EMEM Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, delivering it to support operations at Nigeria’s Okwok oil field, the company said in a news release.
The project, commissioned by World Carrier Corporation on behalf of Oriental Energy Resources Limited, aims to enhance Nigeria’s offshore production capacity and energy self-sufficiency.
The vessel underwent major structural modifications, system upgrades, and installation of 19 topside production and utility modules at Drydocks World’s Dubai facility. Once operational in the first quarter of 2026, the EMEM FPSO will process up to 70,000 barrels of total liquids per day, manage about 15 million standard cubic feet of gas daily, and store up to one million barrels of crude oil. It is designed to operate for up to 15 years without drydocking.
The EMEM FPSO was officially named in December 2024 at Drydocks World during a ceremony attended by Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima. The event emphasized the project’s strategic importance in advancing offshore infrastructure and industrial development.
Drydocks World, a subsidiary of DP World, has completed over 50 major vessel refurbishment and conversion projects, including more than 30 FPSOs.
Drydocks World is a Dubai-based maritime and offshore service provider established over four decades ago. The company operates one of the largest ship repair and conversion facilities in the Middle East and is involved in vessel construction, rig repair, and offshore energy projects, including renewable energy platforms.
