Celestyal Cruises: Promise for a future return to the port of Thessaloniki

Must read

“It is a natural, a temporary pause. The port of Thessaloniki is in our immediate plans for future reintegration into the itineraries” emphasized the captain of the “Celestyal Journey”, Angelos Vasilakos, and extended thanks to the administration of OLTH S.A. for the very good cooperation of so many years. In parallel, he emphasized the need for green infrastructure in the ports.

For his part, the CEO of OLTH S.A., Dr. Ioannis Tsaras, warmly thanked Celestyal, which he characterized as an “important pillar of our cruise-for the substantial, consistent and particularly productive cooperation over the last five years” and added: “The mutual trust and deep appreciation that have developed all these years, constitute the foundation of every enduring and fruitful cooperation. With these principles as a base, we look forward to the continuation of our common journey in the future”.

On the same wavelength is also the statement of the Chief Operating Officer of Celestyal, Captain G. Koubenas: “Thessaloniki remains for the company a point of reference with real potential and substantial prospects. Within the framework of the itinerary redesign and the creation of new experiences for our passengers, the temporary suspension does not constitute a withdrawal, but a natural pause, with Thessaloniki clearly remaining among the options being evaluated for future reintegration, when the operational environment and conditions allow it”.

The special Tourism advisor to the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Alexandros Mandrinos, referred to the importance of the cruise for Thessaloniki, emphasizing that it is strengthened by direct air connections and in this direction efforts are being made for a direct flight with the USA.

The 625 passengers of the last itinerary of the Celestyal Journey were received at the port of Thessaloniki with a celebration featuring traditional dances and treats.
