The Port of Santos recorded its best month in terms of container movement in October of this year, after posting an 11.6% increase compared to October 2024, reaching 550,800 TEU.

Meanwhile, total cargo handling grew 8% in contrast to October of last year. Shipments and landings totaled 16.7 million tons, achieving the second place in the historical series, only behind July 2025 which saw 17.4 million.

The growth was reflected in Santos’ share of Brazilian trade, which reached 29.6% compared to 29% in the same period of 2024. The increase was mainly due to solid bulk cargo (10.3%), general containerized cargo (15.4%), and loose general cargo (5.5%) with shipments of soybeans (94.9%), meat (5.6%), sugar (3.5%), and pulp (2.6%).

The cumulative figures up to October were also a record with an 8.2% growth in containers (4.9 million TEU) and a 1.7% growth in total cargo handling (155.5 million tons).

“We are reaping the fruits of a result-oriented management, with record investments from the public sector and private players. The numbers give us confidence to move forward with structuring projects, such as the STS10 megaterminal and the deepening of the navigation channel,” stated Júlio Cezar Alves de Oliveira, Director of Administration and Finance and interim president of APS.
