Recently, the first A-type liquid tank (referred to as “A-tank”), a core structure for a gas transport ship, constructed by Wenchong Heavy Industry, a subsidiary of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., was successfully delivered at the Longxue yard. This marks a key breakthrough for the company in the field of liquid cargo tanks.
The delivered A-tank is part of the largest liquefied gas ship project currently under construction at Huangpu Wenchong. It is a core component for an order of three 48,000 cubic meter LPG carriers custom-built for the Greek shipowner Benelux Overseas. The tank measures 40.8 meters × 29.2 meters × 18.6 meters, with a capacity of up to 16,340 cubic meters. Its massive size and complex structure placed extremely high demands on the manufacturing process. Facing numerous technical challenges, the project team, leveraging exceptional professional expertise and tenacious problem-solving spirit, overcame each core difficulty one by one, precisely controlled every process step, and ultimately achieved high-quality delivery.
The successful delivery of this project has accumulated valuable practical experience for the company in the manufacturing of liquid cargo tank projects. In the future, the company will continue to enhance its LPG ship construction capabilities, further consolidating its market position in the field of high-end gas carrier products.
