On November 21, the construction of a 1056TEU container ship built by Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for Fujian Liheng Shipping Co., Ltd., and another 1056TEU container ship for Fuzhou Honghan Shipping Co., Ltd., successfully commenced.
At the commencement ceremony, leaders from both companies, project managers, and specially invited guests jointly witnessed the milestone moment of the “first steel plate being precisely ignited and cut on the CNC cutting machine.” The simultaneous start of construction for two ships, with dual commencements in one day, not only represents a key strategic move for the two shipping companies to expand their transportation capacity but also serves as strong recognition for Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. It highlights the company’s first-class shipbuilding capabilities and confirms the market acceptance of this ship type. After the future delivery of the vessels, they will further enhance the transportation capacity level of the Fujian shipping hub, injecting new momentum into the smooth operation of domestic and international trade channels.
The 1056TEU container ship is a mainstay vessel type for international feeder services. It has an overall length of 136.80m, a breadth of 23.30m, a depth of 11.20m, and a design draft of 7.00m. This ship type adopts an optimized layout of 340TEU in the cargo hold + 716TEU on deck, achieving a total container capacity of 1056TEU. It features a compact structure and efficient loading. Designed to adapt to the navigation conditions of multiple ports, it is classified as an unlimited navigation area vessel.
