On November 19, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bestway Marine & Energy Technology, formally delivered “Zhanjiang Bay No. 1” — the world’s first floating dynamically positioned aquaculture vessel — to Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory.
As the world’s first aquaculture platform integrating a workboat with cage systems, the Zhanjiang Bay No. 1 pioneers a new paradigm of intensive, intelligent, and green aquaculture through five major innovations.
Measuring 154 meters in length and 44 meters in width, the platform holds 80,000 cubic meters of aquaculture water and can produce 2,000 tons of premium fish species such as grouper and tuna annually, enabling simultaneous cultivation of multiple species.
The vessel features significant core innovations:
The development of “Zhanjiang Bay No. 1” is not only the world’s first deep-water heavy equipment for all-sea aquaculture, but also a concentrated reflection of China’s independent innovation capabilities in the fields of marine fishery resource development, ecological environmental protection, and high-end equipment manufacturing. Its design embodies China’s most cutting-edge marine engineering concepts, integrates intelligent and green cutting-edge technologies, and has achieved a leap from following to leading in many core technologies.
