On May 8, the first 16000TEU methanol dual-fuel series container vessel built by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou), the “COSCO Shipping Lily”, departed from the dock and officially began sea trials.

In the early morning of April 30, the vessel completed its final methanol bunkering before sea trials. The series has completed a total of 8 bunkering operations, with a single maximum bunkering volume of 950 tons, setting a domestic record for tanker-to-ship bunkering scale; bunkering locations expanded from the company dock to Jingjiang and Shanghai, achieving zero leakage throughout the entire process. Through continuous optimization, the inerting time was reduced from 6.5 hours for the first vessel to 4 hours, improving efficiency by 30%.

The “COSCO Shipping Lily” has an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters, a maximum container capacity of 16,136 TEU, is equipped with an 11,000 cubic meter methanol storage tank, and features domestically produced methanol dual-fuel main engines, boilers, and generator sets, forming a complete methanol energy application system covering propulsion, power generation, and heat utilization.
