The Fedespedi report confirms solid performance for the Leghorn ports, with improving economic results and stable operational indicators

Livorno – The new annual report from Fedespedi’s research center, dedicated to the 19 main Italian container terminals, depicts an overall positive 2024 for the ports of Livorno, in line with the recovery recorded at the national level.

Terminal Lorenzini ended the year with a 9% increase in traffic, rising from 263,000 to 268,000 teu, and shows growing efficiency indicators: 487 teu per meter of quay and 67,000 teu per crane. On the economic front, the terminal recorded a 5.2% increase in turnover and maintained a workforce of 138 employees.

More mixed performance, however, for the Terminal Darsena Toscana (Tdt), which saw a slight decrease of 1.7% in volumes, from 387,808 to 381,198 teu. Operational indicators remain stable, however, with 267 teu per meter of quay and 63,533 teu per crane. The economic result improves: turnover rises by 2.3%, reaching 45.28 million euros, while the workforce stands at 260 units.

The Fedespedi report, based on filed financial statements and specific efficiency indicators, thus confirms the ability of the Leghorn ports to maintain competitiveness and operational continuity in a transitioning market context.
