MSC and MEDLOG have received renewed certification from RINA, a leading certification body, for their Food Safety Management System and Good Distribution Practice protocols.
MEDLOG Italy has additionally achieved FSM certification for the first time, extending the certified network across the group’s operations.
The two certifications address distinct but related areas of sensitive cargo management. The FSM certification is based on ISO 22000 and applies to the transportation and handling of food and beverages, while GDP certification is grounded in EU directives /EC and /EU governing the distribution of pharmaceutical products.
Both frameworks are designed to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of temperature-sensitive and high-value goods throughout the supply chain.
Robust temperature control management during transportation is a central compliance requirement under both protocols.
MSC and MEDLOG first achieved GDP and FSM certification in 2023 following a comprehensive audit.
The renewed certifications confirm the ongoing integrity of the protocols established at that time.
Customers who select a certified protocol for their shipments receive a package of enhanced services including compliance documentation, 24-hour monitoring by the MSC Control Tower team with the capacity to intervene and take corrective action as required, and an end-of-trip report confirming cargo condition upon delivery.
These services are available for an additional fee and are designed to provide cargo owners with a higher level of assurance across the full duration of transit for sensitive goods.
