Hamburg-based tugboat operator Fairplay welcomed a special arrival last week when new tugs were brought in on board the heavy lift vessel “UHL Finesse”.
Two of the three units were built at the Damen Shipyard in /China and one unit at the Damen Shipyard in Song /Vietnam. Two of the ships – “Fairplay-86” and “Fairplay-87” – are tugs of the type Azimuth Stern Drive Tug 2312 and were built in China. The third is a tug of the type Reversed Stern Drive Tug 2513 with the name “Fairplay-98”. This was manufactured in Vietnam.
The newbuildings “Fairplay-87” and “Fairplay-98” will support the tugboat fleet in Hamburg. Both are managed by Fairplay Schleppdampfschiffs-Reederei Richard Borchard GmbH, based in Hamburg. The Fairplay Towage Group currently has around 100 vessels. The newbuilding “Fairplay 86” will be operated in Poland by Fairplay Polska.
The two ships deployed in Hamburg are currently being reflagged to the German flag – with Hamburg as their home port.
