On November 18, the commencement ceremony for the “5000-ton Class Lifting and Salvage Engineering Vessel,” built by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tianhai Fusion, for the Yantai Salvage Bureau, was successfully held in the indoor workshop of Dajin Heavy Industry’s Yangzhong base. Leaders from relevant units including the Yantai Salvage Bureau, the Marine Design & Research Institute of China (MARIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), China Classification Society (CCS) Jiangsu Branch, CCS Zhenjiang Office, Wuhan Marine Machinery Co., Ltd., Tianhai Fusion防务 Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiahao Ship Engineering Yangzhou Co., Ltd., jointly attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Zhan Jinfeng, President of Tianhai Fusion, delivered a welcome speech, expressing gratitude for the trust of the Yantai Salvage Bureau and the support from all parties. He stated that building a strong maritime nation is the driving force for forging ahead, and collaborating with the Yantai Salvage Bureau, which shoulders the mission of emergency rescue and salvage in the northern sea areas, is a great honor and a significant responsibility. This project is a vivid practice in response to the maritime power strategy, carrying a solemn commitment to the national mission, and will strongly enhance China’s maritime emergency rescue capabilities. Subsequently, representatives from each unit delivered speeches. Kang Weixia, Director of the Offshore Department at MARIC, introduced the project’s design advantages and technical highlights; Hang Zhongjiu, Deputy General Manager of CCS Jiangsu Branch, stated they would strictly perform inspection duties and fully ensure project quality; Du Guangming, Deputy Director of the Yantai Salvage Bureau, placed high hopes on the cooperation, looking forward to sincere collaboration from all parties to jointly create high-quality maritime emergency rescue equipment.

This vessel is a self-propelled, fully-revolving crane ship integrating multiple functions such as transport, rescue and salvage, lifting, hoisting, and wind power installation. With a maximum lifting capacity of 6000 tons, it possesses capabilities for the integrated salvage of large-tonnage underwater objects and rapid obstacle clearance, which is of great significance for the Yantai Salvage Bureau in fulfilling its public welfare duties of national emergency rescue and salvage. Simultaneously, it can meet the installation and hoisting requirements for the vast majority of modules, jacket foundations, monopiles, and offshore substations in the oil & gas and offshore wind power industries, and also features platform operation support and diving operation support functions. The vessel boasts an advanced design concept and strong comprehensive performance. The hull is designed for harsh sea conditions in deep, far-sea areas with long-period swells, offering excellent seakeeping and wave suppression capabilities. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance China’s comprehensive operational and emergency response capabilities in deep and far-sea areas.

As the core manufacturing platform of Tianhai Fusion, Dajin Heavy Industry, relying on its “Four Bases, One Supporting Facility, Two Centers” layout, has accumulated profound experience in the construction of special vessels and offshore engineering equipment. The collaborative mechanism previously established with Wuhan Marine Machinery in several major projects, such as the “Tiejian Daqiao Qi 2” crane vessel and the “Ganghang Ping 5” wind power installation platform, provides strong support for this project.

The commencement marks the call to action. In the next step, Dajin Heavy Industry will assemble the best resources, fully leverage its technological and entire industry chain synergy advantages, closely collaborate with consortium partners, meticulously control every process, strive to make this vessel an industry benchmark, and contribute to the building of a strong maritime nation.
