The Global Ethanol Association (GEA) has announced that Edeniq, Inc. has joined the organisation as a founding member, highlighting the association’s growing momentum in uniting the global ethanol value chain.
According to a statement released on November 26, GEA said it was “thrilled to welcome Edeniq aboard,” emphasising that the company’s addition strengthens its mission to bring together industry stakeholders to drive sustainable innovation, collaboration, and growth.
Edeniq provides analytical technologies under its Intellulose® brand, which are widely used for fibre and cellulosic ethanol testing across the biofuels sector. Its tools support biofuel production, measurement, and certification, expertise GEA describes as a strong asset to its founding membership group.
According to GEA, the organisation’s mission is to foster collaboration across the ethanol ecosystem and accelerate ethanol-driven solutions in industries ranging from transport fuels to chemicals and agriculture. The association noted that Edeniq’s entry as a founding member enhances its collective ability to share best practices and advance sustainable energy pathways.
The move comes as the marine fuels industry continues to explore alternative fuel options, with ethanol emerging as one potential pathway for decarbonisation. Ethanol can be used as a marine fuel either in blended form or as a feedstock for methanol production, which several shipping companies have begun adopting.
GEA reiterated its commitment to driving industry-wide collaboration, aiming to promote innovation, expand knowledge sharing, and support a “sustainable, ethanol-powered future.” The association added that it looks forward to working closely with Edeniq to accelerate progress across the global ethanol value chain.
