SEA.AI has been selected for France’s Index Blue Tech 2025 programme, a recognition reserved for high-potential companies shaping the future of the maritime sector. The selection highlights the growing role of digital vision systems in improving safety at sea. The company now stands to deepen partnerships across France’s expanding blue economy.

SEA.AI has secured a place in Index Blue Tech 2025, a national initiative led by Cluster Maritime Français that showcases companies seen as influential in the country’s blue economy. The programme focuses on organisations contributing to a safer and more resilient maritime sector and gives selected firms greater visibility among industry leaders, investors and operators.

The company was chosen for its work in applying artificial intelligence, thermal and optical imaging and on-board processing to create real-time situational awareness for vessels of all types. Its systems are designed to detect vessels, debris and other hazards during day or night and in low-visibility conditions. They also support early detection of marine mammals, including whales, and can assist crews during man overboard events by identifying human shapes in the water.

Solenn Gouerou, part of the founding team at SEA.AI and now leading marketing and communication, said the selection reflects the quality of innovation emerging across France. “We’re proud to be included in Index Blue Tech 2025. It was inspiring to see so many high-quality French maritime startups gathered under one roof, each bringing real value to the sector. This selection strengthens our position within the French maritime innovation ecosystem and will help us develop partnerships that improve safety at sea for all,” she said.

SEA.AI’s range includes compact single-camera systems for recreational users and multi-sensor units for commercial and professional vessels. The company also provides software that integrates with third-party thermal cameras. All video is processed directly on board, allowing alerts to be issued immediately without relying on connectivity.

Uncrewed surface vessels represent a fast-growing part of SEA.AI’s market, particularly in environmental monitoring, defence, security and energy. The company is also working with ferry and passenger ship operators and survey vessels that require reliable detection systems.

At the centre of its products are proprietary models trained on millions of maritime images gathered since 2018. The real-time analysis classifies objects and signals risk situations to crews.

By joining Index Blue Tech, SEA.AI gains opportunities to work more closely with ports, maritime operators and other innovators in fields such as energy, mobility and marine data as France strengthens its national maritime ecosystem.
