On November 28, the Xiamen Port 5000 horsepower new energy tugboat (DN643-1), built by Southeast Shipbuilding under Fujian Shipbuilding, was successfully delivered.

This vessel was independently developed by Fujian Shipbuilding Research Institute. It has an overall length of 38.30 meters, a beam of 10.60 meters, and a depth of 4.90 meters. The battery capacity is approximately 7300 kWh. At a calm water speed of 8 knots, its endurance is not less than 8 hours. It can meet intelligent energy efficiency requirements, providing auxiliary decisions and suggestions for ship energy efficiency management. The vessel meets the operational requirements for coastal port areas, is suitable for coastal navigation, and assists in the /unberthing and dock /exit operations of container ships, bulk carriers, and other vessels within the port area. It is classed by the China Classification Society.

In recent years, Southeast Shipbuilding has actively implemented the provincial party committee and government’s “Electric Fujian” strategic deployment and the group company’s work requirements. It has completed and delivered the Xiamen Port tugboat “Xia Gang Tuo 30” and promoted the construction of two 5000 horsepower and two 4400 horsepower new energy tugboats, as well as the Fuzhou Port 2940 KW pure battery-powered tugboat. The successful delivery of the 5000 horsepower new energy tugboat (DN643-1) fully reflects the company’s continuous optimization and progress in the field of new energy vessel design and construction.

Leveraging its rich construction experience and excellent construction team, Southeast Shipbuilding will promote the construction and delivery of subsequent new energy tugboats, aiming to create branded products that satisfy users and gain market recognition. This will provide strong support for Xiamen Port Authority’s marine towing operations, inject new momentum into achieving “carbon peak and carbon neutrality,” and make greater contributions to advancing the construction of Fujian as a “strong maritime province.”

On November 28, the 85-meter Subsea Support and Maintenance Vessel (FN85M-SSMV-9), built by Funing Heavy Industry under Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully commenced construction.

This vessel type has an overall length of 85 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a depth of 8 meters, a design draft of 6.2 meters, and a gross tonnage of approximately 5200 tons. Its design speed is 12.5 knots. The vessel will fly a flag of convenience and is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). It is a subsea support and maintenance vessel capable of navigating in unlimited navigation areas. The vessel is of all-welded steel structure, equipped with two bow thrusters, three main generators, two sets of full-revolving rudder propellers, two anchor windlasses, an unmanned machinery space, a helicopter platform, a moonpool, etc. The vessel has a capacity for 200 personnel.

Recently, the 69.8-meter Maintenance Workboat (MW640-1), built by Southeast Shipbuilding under Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully completed all its sea trial tasks and returned triumphantly.

This vessel has an overall length of 69.8 meters, a beam of 17.6 meters, a depth of 6 meters, and a structural draft of 4.5 meters. It is primarily used for the transfer of industrial personnel to offshore drilling platforms, and for the supply of fresh water, drill water, fuel oil, as well as deck cargo transportation. It is classed by ABS and meets requirements for the class notations DPS-2, FFV1, ESS-LiBATTERY, etc. It is an efficient and economical offshore maintenance workboat.

During the sea trials, the vessel underwent multiple performance and system tests in the designated sea area. Through the joint efforts of all participants, the vessel’s key systems, including speed, maneuverability, stability, and the Dynamic Positioning System (DP), performed excellently. All technical indicators and data met the design standards.

Since the project commenced construction, the Southeast Shipbuilding project team has worked closely with the shipowner and classification society to overcome numerous challenges during the building process, successfully completing stages such as block construction, blasting and painting, block erection, launching, and outfitting and debugging. The successful completion of these sea trials marks an important milestone in the project’s progress. It not only demonstrates Southeast Shipbuilding’s strong capabilities and exquisite craftsmanship in the field of offshore support vessel construction but also further consolidates Fujian Shipbuilding’s good reputation in the international shipbuilding market.

On November 27, the 94.76-meter Platform Supply Vessel (MW642-2), built by Mawei Shipbuilding under Fujian Shipbuilding, was successfully laid on the berth.

This vessel type has an overall length of 94.76 meters, a beam of 19 meters, a depth of 8 meters, and a structural draft of 6.5 meters. It adopts a new electric propulsion system, where four 2200KW diesel generator sets provide power and electricity for the entire vessel. Two 2150KW fixed-pitch full-revolving rudder propellers, two 1250KW tunnel bow thrusters, and one 1000KW full-revolving retractable bow thruster provide propulsion and positioning power. It is classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR) and meets requirements for the class notations DP(AA), ECO, CAC3, GR(ML, A). It is primarily used for the transfer of industrial personnel and supplies to offshore drilling platforms and can transport fresh water, fuel oil, cement, mud, drill water, crude oil, methanol, materials, and equipment. It can also perform firefighting and personnel rescue operations for other vessels or offshore facilities. Furthermore, the design allows for future installation of /DSV, offshore cranes, helicopter platforms, moonpools, etc. It is an advanced, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly electric propulsion multi-purpose platform supply vessel.
