Maritime cyber security specialist Port-IT has opened its Asia Pacific sales & customer support office in Bangkok, Thailand. Regional manager Brian Ennion will lead the Bangkok office and Port-IT’s APAC team.

“Bangkok was a sensible choice for us and for our clients”, noted Port-IT CEO Youri Hart. “With the opening of an APAC representative office, we can offer our customers an even higher level of service,” Youri says. “Because Bangkok is in the Eastern time zone, our Asian clients can get in touch with us easily. No more waiting overnight to have sales questions answered from Europe. Technical support is always 24/7 but having an Asian support department means a higher availability on support when needed. Especially with the current heightened threat of cyber crime accuracy, the response speed and quality required is even higher.

“While our main goal is to ensure that our existing Asian clients get the timely service and support they need, we also wish to extend our sales activities within the APAC countries. Port-IT is growing rapidly within Asia, in the process of staying in close contact with our existing customers and explore new business, local presence is crucial. “By putting a team in Bangkok, we will be able to overcome any language, cultural, network and time zone challenges whilst accelerating APAC growth”, said Youri.

Although the new Port-IT office is already in business, the official opening will take place in a few weeks. The opening of the APAC office represents a large milestone in the 15 year history of Port-IT.
