BTÜ’de ‘Gemi Mühendisleri Bursa’da’ etkinliğinin 3’üncüsü gerçekleşti

Bursa Teknik Üniversitesi (BTÜ) Denizcilik Fakültesi ile Gemi ve Denizcilik Topluluğu tarafından 3’ncü kez düzenlenen “Gemi Mühendisleri Bursa’da” etkinliği, sektör temsilcileri ile öğrencileri bir araya getirdi. Mimar Sinan Yerleşkesi Turkuaz Salon’da gerçekleştirilen etkinlikte, denizcilik sektörünün geleceği, savunma sanayisindeki gelişmeler ve genç mühendislerin kariyer yolculukları ele alındı. Programa; BTÜ Rektör Yardımcısı Barış Tamer Tonguç, Denizcilik Fakültesi Dekanı Prof. Dr. Erinç Dobrucalı, sektör temsilcileri, akademisyenler ve öğrenciler katıldı. Etkinliğin açılışında konuşan BTÜ Rektör Yardımcısı Barış Tamer Tonguç, üniversitenin uygulama odaklı eğitim anlayışıyla öğrencileri sektör ihtiyaçlarına uygun şekilde yetiştirdiğini belirtti.

“You will carry the projects of the future forward”

Vice Rector Tonguç, stating that it is important for the students of the Faculty of Maritime to realize such a comprehensive organization, said, “It is gratifying to see that our students are equipped not only with technical knowledge but also with organizational, communication and leadership skills.” Noting that Turkey has gained significant momentum especially in the defense industry in recent years, Vice Rector Tonguç said, “It is you, the young people, who will develop the technologies of the future and carry domestic and national projects forward.”
A strong career organization

Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Prof. Dr. Erinç Dobrucalı also drew attention to the rapid development of the faculty. Prof. Dr. Dobrucalı, stating that the educational journey that started with 40 students in 2021 has reached 277 students today, expressed that the increase in the base scores of the departments every year is pleasing. Haluk Çoban, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, stated that the event has turned into a strong career organization in a short time and said that the connections students will establish with industry representatives are of great importance.

“From the green city to the blue horizons”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özsarı, Head of the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the Faculty of Maritime, reminded that the event started in 2024 with the slogan “Naval Architects Set Sail in Bursa” and said that this year it continues with the motto “From the Green City to the Blue Horizons”. Melike Doğan, President of the Ship and Maritime Community, said that the organization has now turned into a sector-academia meeting that transcends the boundaries of the university. Doğan, stating that the journey that started three years ago has become a strong brand today, said, “This event is not just an organization for us; it is an indicator of our passion for our profession, our desire to learn, and our desire to produce together.”
