On April 30, Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully delivered its second 5,900 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship.

This vessel is a dual-fuel configuration container ship that can use methanol as a power fuel in addition to conventional fuel. Methanol fuel, due to its effective reduction of carbon dioxide emissions during combustion, has become an environmentally friendly alternative fuel highly anticipated by the industry and is also one of the core options for promoting decarbonization development in the shipping industry.

Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding is continuously advancing the construction of environmentally friendly ship types, with this vessel being the second of this series. Following the delivery of the first ship, this new delivery will further accumulate construction experience for methanol dual-fuel vessels, while also helping to strengthen the company’s research and development and construction adaptability capabilities for next-generation environmentally friendly fuel ship types.

In the shipping industry, influenced by increasingly stringent international environmental regulations, market demand for ships capable of using alternative fuels is rapidly rising. Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding will continue to adapt to the increasingly diversified market demands in the future, contributing to the realization of sustainable maritime transportation by building ships that balance environmental performance and navigation safety.
