MISC Group (MISC) has christened its two new-generation LNG carriers, Seri Dian and Seri Dayang. The addition of these vessels further strengthens its collaboration with SeaRiver Maritime LLC (SRM), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil.
Built by Hanwha Ocean, the 174,000 m3 LNG carriers are equipped with intelligent and low-energy technologies, including the Intelligent Control via Exhaust Gas Recirculation (ICER) system and an enhanced cargo containment system with reduced boil-off rates to improve efficiency and support safer operations.
Zahid Osman, President and Chief Executive Officer of MISC Group, stated that “the naming of Seri Dian and Seri Dayang marks another significant step forward in how we drive progress at MISC, guided by disciplined growth and operational excellence to deliver energy safely, reliably, and efficiently. Our partnership with SeaRiver Maritime remains an example of this approach. Built on a solid foundation of trust and performance, it demonstrates how strategic collaboration allows us to transform shared ambition into concrete action.”
With the addition of Seri Dian and Seri Dayang, MISC now operates four LNG carriers under a long-term charter contract with SeaRiver Maritime.
Currently, MISC’s LNG fleet comprises 32 vessels following the arrival of Seri Dian and Seri Dayang, consolidating its position as one of the world’s leading owners and operators of LNG carriers.
