UK-based PuriFire Energy has signed a letter of intent with X-Press Feeders for the supply of up to 15,000 tonnes of biomethanol a year.
The planned arrangement covers 10,000-15,000 tonnes annually from PuriFire’s proposed facilities. The two parties will also explore the co-development of port-based production sites across the UK and Europe.
PuriFire stated that the collaboration would combine X-Press Feeders’ fleet-scale demand with its decentralised production model to support a vertically integrated marine fuel supply chain.
The energy technology firm added: “We are excited about this partnership and what it means for the future of maritime fuel.”
X-Press Feeders is a Singapore-based feeder carrier with methanol-capable vessels already in service. The liner operator completed its first biomethanol bunkering operation in Singapore in 2024.
Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, PuriFire Energy is a biomethanol project developer working on decentralised, port-based production facilities for marine fuel supply.
