From May 8 to 9, Wenchong Ship Repair, a subsidiary of CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International, successfully completed the repair tasks for two vessels, with shipbuilding and repair progressing side by side in a bustling scene.

On May 8, Wenchong Ship Repair completed the repair of the container ship “MSC Busan” with high quality and delivered it smoothly for departure. The vessel entered the yard for repairs on March 11. Facing a tight schedule, numerous tasks, and overlapping timelines, the Wenchong Ship Repair project team coordinated the overall situation, deployed resources proactively, and strictly controlled construction progress and repair quality. By early May, they completed all construction items to high standards, including routine ironwork repairs, modifications to the engine room bilge and drainage system, conversion of ballast tanks to bilge tanks, rectification of PSC inspection checklist items, as well as temporarily added tasks such as replacing louvers and conducting inclination tests.

The successful completion of this repair task has accumulated valuable practical experience for subsequent repairs of the same series of vessels, fully demonstrating Wenchong Ship Repair’s strong履约能力 (performance capability), further enhancing cooperation and mutual trust with the shipowner, and continuously polishing the reputation of its repair and construction services.

On May 9, Wenchong Ship Repair successfully completed the repair of the bulk carrier “Ming Yu”. The vessel’s repair project involved a large workload and complex procedures, including replacement of multiple cargo hold bottom plates, replacement of hydraulic pipelines, and extensive painting of the hull and cargo holds. The project team closely monitored the schedule, coordinated and allocated workforces, and completed all repair tasks on time and with guaranteed quality.

During the repair period, the project team proactively engaged with the superintendent and the ship’s crew, strengthened regular communication and coordination, promptly synchronized construction progress, and resolved technical difficulties and various construction issues on-site, strictly adhering to engineering quality and safety production底线 (bottom line). Ultimately, the vessel passed overall acceptance smoothly, with all indicators meeting operational requirements. Wenchong Ship Repair’s professional services also won high recognition from the ship’s crew.
