The Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding began construction of the sixth 9,000 TEU dual-fuel container vessel for Pacific International Lines (PIL), after carrying out the steel cutting of the ship.

The design of the vessel was independently developed by the manufacturer, specifically taking into account the operational characteristics of the shipping company, reported Imarine.

The vessel has an overall length of approximately 274 meters, a beam of 45.6 meters, and a draft of 24.8 meters. In detail, the container vessel has a maximum capacity of 9,040 TEU and can carry 1,308 refrigerated containers.

The construction of the vessel will consider equipping it with systems such as a high-efficiency main engine, energy-saving devices, a shaft generator, and a high-voltage shore connection, allowing it to operate with low consumption.
