The National Agency for Ports and Navigation (Anpyn) of Argentina advanced in the bidding process for the renewal of the security monitoring system of the Port of Ushuaia, receiving five proposals from specialized companies to carry out the most relevant technological update for the terminal’s security.
The project contemplates a comprehensive solution under a “turnkey” modality, which includes the provision, installation and commissioning of high-definition cameras, long-range PTZ cameras, advanced video storage and management systems, as well as dedicated wireless links and network equipment.
This modernization will allow for a comprehensive strengthening of the security system, guaranteeing protection for both passengers and vessels, as well as for the accesses and operational areas of the terminal.
The improvement in monitoring capabilities and in the processing of recorded data ensures that the Ushuaia terminal operates under the highest international standards, fully complying with all port security requirements and protocols.
The renewal of the CCTV system is part of the Anpyn Comprehensive Works Plan, which seeks to replace equipment with a high degree of technological obsolescence with state-of-the-art technology.
This initiative is being carried out in parallel with other critical interventions, such as the replacement of the fender system, which involves the removal of installed equipment and the provision, placement and calibration of 75 new fenders, whose tender is currently in the offer evaluation stage.
In the coming weeks, meanwhile, the call for tenders for the re-adaptation of the electrical grid and water supply will be announced, consolidating management’s commitment to operational efficiency and comprehensive terminal security. Furthermore, the Comprehensive Works Plan contemplates other initiatives, such as the comprehensive repair of berths 1, 3 and 5 of the port’s main pier.
