Road freight transport continues to consolidate as one of the main drivers of the Colombian economy. During May 2026, 14,407,727 tons of goods were mobilized, representing a growth of 11.25% compared to the same period in 2025, according to information reported in the National Registry of Cargo Dispatches (RNDC).
The national logistics operation also reflected significant dynamism throughout the territory. A total of 2,304 companies participated, mobilizing goods in 1,133,359 vehicles, generating 1,294,296 cargo manifests, and making 1,221,693 trips, figures that demonstrate the sector’s capacity to respond to the country’s supply, production, and trade needs.
“The growth of more than 11% in cargo mobilization shows that Colombia is advancing towards a more dynamic, efficient, and competitive logistics system. Behind these figures are companies that produce, transporters who work every day, and regions that strengthen their connection with markets. From the National Government we will continue to promote infrastructure and a transport system that facilitate trade, generate opportunities, and contribute to the country’s economic growth,” stated the Minister of Transport, Mafe Rojas.
Among the solid goods with the highest volume of mobilization during May, corn stood out with 694,586 tons; non-alcoholic beverages with 597,547 tons; and miscellaneous products with 524,938 tons, reflecting the dynamism of different productive sectors of the country.
In liquid cargo transport, the main products mobilized were refined petroleum oils or bituminous mineral oils, with 243.4 million gallons; crude petroleum oils or bituminous mineral oils, with 182.8 million gallons; and biodiesel and its blends, with 13.2 million gallons.
The behavior of cargo also confirms the strategic role of the main national logistics corridors. Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, and Antioquia concentrated the largest volumes of tons transported, driven by the industrial, commercial, port, and distribution activity that takes place in these regions.
As the origin of trips, Valle del Cauca led with 2.56 million tons, followed by Cundinamarca with 2.10 million, and Antioquia with 1.61 million. Regarding destinations, Cundinamarca ranked first with 1.98 million tons, followed by Antioquia with 1.93 million, and Valle del Cauca with 1.86 million.
In the mobilization of liquid cargo, Meta and Casanare recorded the highest volumes of origin, while Casanare led the destinations during the month of May, consolidating itself as one of the main nodes for the transport of hydrocarbons and their derivatives.
