Puerto Ventanas S.A. (PVSA) emphasized its operational advantages as a terminal for receiving and shipping abroad mining cargo from Argentina that requires an outlet to international markets via the Pacific.

In the context of an international mining sector meeting, PVSA’s Sustainable Operations Manager, Luis Fuentes, highlighted the port’s 35 years of experience as a specialist in solid bulk transfer and specialized services for mining, as well as the facility’s capabilities.

In this regard, Fuentes highlighted the bimodal reception of cargo (by rail and road), the possibility of simultaneously loading 30 thousand tons of copper concentrate at two berthing sites and, among others, the social and environmental standards under which it operates, which are fundamental for sustainably reconciling cargo growth and the eventual shipment of Argentine mineral.

Likewise, the PVSA executive emphasized the importance of the Paso Centauro project and stated that “cooperation between both countries is key to facilitating connectivity between both countries in an efficient and modern way, considering all the services involved in border crossings.”

“It is the natural port of departure for Mendoza cargo, as it is the terminal closest to the border crossing and the only one specialized in mining with the advantage of bimodal cargo transport either by train or trucks, therefore, we are very pleased,” Fuentes stated regarding the role of Puerto Ventanas.
