According to a Drewry analysis, 52 voyages are expected to be cancelled over the next five weeks, representing a suspension rate of 7%. Thus, 93% of vessels will operate as scheduled.
According to the consultancy, between week 33 (10 to 16 August) and week 37 (7 to 13 September), 60% of the disruptions will affect the eastbound transpacific route.
The remaining cancellations will be distributed between the Asia-North /Mediterranean route (27%) and the Transatlantic (13%).
At the level of shipping groups and alliances, Gemini Cooperation leads operational reliability by completing 99% of its scheduled voyages, closely followed by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with 98% of effective departures.
Premier Alliance, for its part, will maintain 93% of its operations, while Ocean Alliance will fulfil 90% of its planned routes.
Finally, independent operators and other shipping lines record the lowest percentage of compliance in the period analysed, ensuring the execution of 88% of their departures.
