The Port Authority of Castellón (PortCastelló) recorded growth of 8.88% in total cargo movement accumulated up to July 2026, after reaching 11,759,144 tonnes.
In the period, the increases in general cargo stood out, with 53.65% compared to what was accumulated by July 2025, and the rise of 41.95% in TEU, recording 87,005 TEU in 2026, compared to the 61,294 TEU moved in 2025.
The ranking of products by tonnes managed up to July was led by crude oil (GL) with 3,132,728 tonnes, feldspar (GS) with 2,095,010 tonnes, followed by gasolines (GL), kaolin (GS) and fuel oil (GL). Likewise, the 43.7% progress of kaolin stood out.
Regarding the degree of specialization of the movement, solid bulk accounted for 43.3% of the total, 47.1% corresponded to liquid bulk and 6.8% to general cargo.
The main commercial destinations of the port of Castellón were Turkey, Morocco, Brazil, Kazakhstan and Romania.
In particular, the month of July ended as the best month in liquid bulk of 2026 to date for the Port of Castellón, also becoming the second best July in its history in liquid bulk, moving 925,309 tonnes, and third in cargo movement in its history, handling 1,875,590 tonnes.
Regarding the remaining cargo, by type of presentation, PortCastelló has moved 817,902 tonnes in solid bulk, representing growth of 15.7% compared to July 2025, and in general cargo, growth has been 28.7%, moving 132,379 tonnes, accompanying the 17.5% growth in liquid bulk, a record for this month. In container handling, the port facility recorded growth of 30.7%, moving 10,441 TEUs.
“The Port of Castellón closes the month of July 2026 as the second best year in history in liquid bulk and the third best result in all 124 years in cargo, with an increase of more than 17.4% compared to the same period of the previous year,” stated the president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez.
