A.P. Møller – Mærsk has entered into an agreement to sell Maersk Training and its subsidiary Maersk H2S Safety Services to the American private equity firm Open Gate Capital. The transaction is expected to be completed later in 2026, and until then Maersk Training will continue to operate as part of A.P. Møller – Mærsk.

“This is an important milestone for Maersk Training. The agreement recognizes the strong business we have built together over the past 40+ years. While many of us are proud of our Maersk heritage, we are equally excited about the opportunities this next chapter brings under an owner with experience in unlocking long-term value and who will enable our strategic focus,” says David Skov, CEO of Maersk Training

For more than 40 years, Maersk Training has delivered specialized training, competence development and safety services to, among others, the offshore and maritime industries.

“Maersk Training has built a strong business with highly qualified colleagues, trusted customer relationships and a solid foundation for future growth. We believe that this transaction will enable Maersk Training to continue its development under an owner that has training, safety and competence solutions as a central focus area, creating new opportunities for customers, employees and the business alike,” says Katharina Poehlmann, Chief Strategy Officer at A.P. Møller – Mærsk and Chair of the Board of Maersk Training.

Until the transaction is finally completed, which is expected later in 2026, Maersk Training will continue to operate as part of A.P. Møller – Mærsk. Employees, customers and partners can expect the business to continue as usual throughout the transition period.
