Israel and Hamas signed the 20-point Gaza ceasefire agreement in Egypt, brokered by US President Donald Trump.
The information was reported by Egypt’s Al Cairo news agency. Israeli Army Radio announced that “operations in Gaza” have stopped. However, the Israeli army continues its attacks in the Gaza Strip.
In the footage shared by news agencies, smoke is seen rising from the area.
An Israeli prime ministerial official said, “The ceasefire in Gaza will come into effect after the agreement is approved by the government this evening.” Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported that the ceasefire had come into effect.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated, “After two years of suffering and disasters, an agreement has been reached on a ceasefire and the end of the war in Gaza.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli press wrote that the US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s advisor Jared Kushner will go to Israel tonight.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony on the fourth day of negotiations. The hostages are expected to be released starting from Saturday.
Hamas official Osama Hamdan, in a statement to Qatar’s Al Arabi TV channel, said that 400 aid trucks will enter Gaza daily starting from Sunday.
