The company will provide a high-capacity rock laying system for the protection of cables and pipelines on seabeds up to 400 meters deep
Trieste – Remazel, a company of the Fincantieri group, has signed a contract with Jan De Nul, a Belgian company that is a world leader in maritime and offshore engineering activities, for the supply of mission critical equipment intended for a newly built vessel.
The contract includes the design and supply of an advanced system for the transport and laying of rocks on the seabed, intended for the protection of cables and pipelines. The solution developed by Remazel will allow operations at depths of up to 400 meters and a production capacity of 2,000 /hour, ensuring precision, efficiency, and operational continuity even in complex marine conditions. The centralized control system will coordinate all onboard equipment, optimizing processes and increasing the overall safety of operations.
The agreement represents a further step in the Fincantieri group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the underwater sector and consolidates the group’s positioning as a reference technological partner in the protection of offshore underwater infrastructure, an increasingly strategic area in the global geopolitical context.
“The agreement with Jan De Nul demonstrates how the maritime world is changing and confirms the centrality of operations on the seabed. Our rock laying solution represents a frontier area in the protection of underwater infrastructure, crucial for future defense and security scenarios. We are very proud of the progress of our subsidiary Remazel, which confirms itself as an international excellence in the engineering and realization of pioneering and highly innovative electromechanical solutions on board vessels and on the seabed, thanks to established industrial relationships with industry leaders like Jan De Nul,” explained Pierroberto Folgiero, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Fincantieri.
