People’s Daily Online, Beijing, October 25 (Reporter Wang Lianxiang) Recently, the 2025 National Conference on the Innovative Development of Transportation and Energy Integration Technology, themed “Integration and Innovation in Transportation and Energy, Empowering the Construction of a Strong Nation,” was held in Changsha. The conference aimed to explore innovative paths and future directions for the deep integration of the two strategic industries of transportation and energy.
“Integrating transportation and energy into medium- and long-term development strategies, clarifying the core logic of mutual empowerment between transportation and energy systems, and formulating specialized implementation plans. At the same time, efforts will focus on creating a number of benchmark projects such as the Guanglian Expressway and the Xujiaqiao Zero-Carbon Logistics Park in scenarios like integrated highway photovoltaic storage and charging, port multi-energy complementary systems, and urban transportation-energy integration networks, to form replicable and scalable solutions.” Yang Zhichao, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), stated at the forum that at the scenario and technology level, the Group will leverage its advantages in full transportation scenarios to transform massive transportation assets into a ‘rich mine’ for clean energy development; utilize its full industrial chain service capability to implant the concept of full-process integration from planning to operation; rely on its technological R&D advantages to overcome multiple key technologies; and use its global network layout to gain insights into diverse demands.
At the sub-forum on “Innovation and Industrial Development of Source-Grid-Load-Storage Systems,” jointly organized by CCCC Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Bureau and CCCC First Highway Consultants Co., Ltd., multiple industry experts conducted thematic discussions on key issues related to source-grid-load-storage and shared a series of professional reports.
“Whether it’s vehicles speeding on highways, busy operations in ports, or trains shuttling through cities, all are calling for more efficient, greener, and more synergistic energy solutions.” Li Weizhou, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of CCCC Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Bureau, stated that currently, the integration of transportation and energy has become an industry development trend, and “source-grid-load-storage coordination” is an important lever to address the industry’s energy demands—it can not only transform transportation infrastructure from ‘energy consumers’ to ‘green energy prosumers’ but also open up a new track of high-quality development for the entire industry.
