Air Lubrication Tech Demand Doubles

Must read

Recently,Silverstream Technologies’ CEO Noah Silberschmidt spoke to Lloyd’s List’s Richard Clayton about the mounting interest in Silverstream’s technology.

During the interview, Noah mentioned the impactCarbon Intensity Indicator requirements (coming into force early next year) will have on interest in fuel-agnostic solutions like the Silverstream®️ System, whichhas been reflected in Silverstream’s growing orderbook:

“Since the beginning of the year the number of contracts has more than doubled, from 50 to 110 vessels, with 22 vessels currently in the water rising to 28 by the end of the year. Revenue has increased from $100m to a lot more than that.”

Set up in 2010, Silverstream has over 100 specialists, a senior suite expanding with the appointment of a new chief financial officer, and a larger data analytics team. Silverstream has opened an office in Shanghai — the largest market — providing in-country customer service.

Meanwhile, new strategic agreements have been signed with MMHE Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering, N-KOM Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine in Qatar, and Dubai Drydocks.

Most encouraging has been the number of repeat orders from customers with air lubrication systems in place for several years, including MSC, Carnival and Princess cruise lines, Grimaldi and Finnlines, and Shell.
