Al Faris Group flexes muscle with mammoth reactor move

The Al Faris Group recently transported two massive gas-phase reactors, highlighting their expertise in handling heavy-lift projects. This feat underscores the company’s commitment to safety, experience, and cutting-edge equipment.

Each reactor weighed a staggering 510 tonnes, with significant dimensions of 37 meters in length, 10.2 meters in width, and 9.5 meters in height. Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of these behemoths demanded meticulous planning and top-of-the-line equipment.

The transport was done for the Borogue (P4) project, one of the largest industrial projects underway in the UAE.

Al Faris took on the challenge by utilising their fleet from Commeto. The Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), specifically the Commetto Propelled to the MAX configuration, played a pivotal role in the operation. A 4-file SPMT combination comprising 44 axle units formed the robust platform for transporting the reactors.

According to Al Faris Group, its expertise, dedication, and state-of-the-art equipment allowed it to conquer even the most challenging projects.

“For Cometto, it’s always a pleasure to see how our technology helps to handle complex tasks with precision and excellence,” Commeto said.

This successful operation further solidifies Al Faris Group’s position as a major player in heavy-lift transportation within the region.
