Aster Chemicals & Energy has contracted Allseas to rejuvenate the single buoy mooring (SBM) and subsea infrastructure on Bukom island, Singapore. The scope covers installation and commissioning activities for pipeline infrastructure connecting the offshore facility to Aster’s onshore refinery and storage hub.

The vessel is capable of laying pipelines up to 60 inches in diameter in waters up to 150 metres deep. The design includes an 800-tonne crane for heavy construction and a davit system to support complex mid-line tie-ins and above-water connections. It has been part of the Allseas fleet since 2023.

Bukom SBM

Aster’s Bukom SBM is a strategic hub for Singapore’s refining and petrochemical sector, enabling large tankers to transfer crude oil safely and efficiently to shore. The rejuvenation forms part of Aster’s wider investment to enhance the energy infrastructure and reinforce Singapore’s position as a key energy hub in the region.
