The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) is inviting global and domestic investors to develop three to five large logistics parks near the state’s ports, together with multimodal logistics hubs at Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.
The plan was presented at an investor roadshow in Mumbai on Monday, led by state minister Nara Lokesh, ahead of the 30th CII Partnership Summit scheduled in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15.
During the meetings, Lokesh held discussions with Tata Group chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Trafigura India CEO Sachin Gupta, executives from ESR Group India Investments including Saadat Shah and Prakrut Mehta, HP India managing director Ipsitha Das, and Rustomjee Group chairman Boman Irani.
The minister invited ESR Group to collaborate with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) under the state’s new Plug & Play Industrial Parks Policy 4.0 to set up three to five logistics parks near ports, with multimodal hubs at Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.
He also sought investments in cold chain facilities, warehousing, and container freight stations to strengthen port-led exports.
With Tata Group, Lokesh proposed cooperation on electric vehicle charging infrastructure through Tata Power Renewables and encouraged the group to explore cell and module manufacturing in the state.
He also asked Tata Elxsi to establish a regional office or engineering centre in Visakhapatnam. In discussions with Trafigura, Lokesh proposed investments in cold storage, export infrastructure, commodity trading operations in Visakhapatnam, and an LNG regasification terminal at Kakinada or Visakhapatnam to support gas-based power generation.
Lokesh invited HP to consider setting up a 3D Printing Centre of Excellence and encouraged Rustomjee Group to develop a luxury township in Visakhapatnam aligned with the city’s IT and data-centre expansion.
“We love competition. Competitive federalism is very important for our nation; it makes us stronger and more alert,” Lokesh said during the roadshow.
