Following the unmanned maritime vehicle belonging to Ukraine found by fishermen off the Çarşıbaşı district of Trabzon last week, a similar object was seen at sea off the Hopa-Arhavi districts of Artvin this time. A fisherman who went out to sea noticed the object drifting on the water and thought it could be an unmanned maritime vehicle. The fisherman reported the situation to the Coast Guard teams and also recorded video with his mobile phone.
According to initial determinations, it is assessed that the object could be an overturned unmanned maritime vehicle or a lifeboat estimated to have fallen from large ships. What the object is will be decided after the examination by the Coast Guard teams.
While the uneasiness of Black Sea fishermen continues after the incident off Trabzon last week, fishermen are viewing every object they see at sea with anxiety due to the frequent encounters with suspicious objects in the region.
