Tandanor and Rousseaux signed a strategic agreement that gives rise to Tandanor Green, a new unit specialized in energy efficiency for ships, aimed at offering technical solutions to accompany the maritime industry in its transition towards a more sustainable model aligned with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The agreement seals the joint will of both companies to promote a concrete transformation in the naval sector, not only by adapting new constructions to more demanding environmental parameters, but also by developing technologies to convert existing vessels and reduce their carbon footprint. The initiative combines Rousseaux’s technical expertise with the shipyard’s industrial capacity in conversion and naval maintenance.
“The creation of Tandanor Green reflects the course we are charting: to incorporate technological innovation and an environmental focus into our production processes. This alliance allows us to expand our service offerings with solutions that respond to new global standards, with a strategy of sustained development and commitment to the future of the industry,” said Tomás Etcheverry, the company’s president.
Among the solutions that the new unit will offer are: paints and coatings that reduce hydrodynamic resistance; high-efficiency nozzles and rudders; reduction of propeller cavitation; OPS (Onshore Power Supply) systems for electrical connection in port; aerodynamic deckhouses; optimization of bow bulbs; installation of Magnus effect rotors for wind utilization; exhaust heat recovery; and adaptation of ships to alternative fuels, among others.
