Must read

Armed pirates boarded two offshore vessels within two
days on December 28th and 29th in Mexico’s Bay of
Campeche. The offshore oil and gas sector has long been a hotspot for organized
crime attacks.

During the second incident, during the early hours of
December 29th, six armed robbers boarded the AHTS / spill response
ship Bourbon Alienor (IMO 9390070), operated by Bourbon’s local
subsidiary. They made off in a small boat with valuable equipment consisting of
SCBAs, tools, radios and other gear, according to Tribuna Campeche. The
crew were left unharmed.

The attack was reported to the Mexican authorities at
about 02:45, and the Mexican Navy attended a few hours later to take a report.
The day before, a crew of pirates reportedly boarded the Bourbon Artabaze (IMO 9390044), operated by the same firm. No further details on that boarding
were available.
