Assiterminal, the association of Italian terminal operators, met in Rome for its elective assembly, which unanimously reconfirmed Tomaso Cognolato as president for the next three-year term 2026-2028. Alongside him, the new Presidential Committee was also elected, composed of past president Luca Becce and vice presidents Antonio Barbara, Giuliana Brucato, Giancarlo Russo, and Luca Trevisan.
The association’s Board of Directors was also renewed, now composed of Roberto Alberti, Federico Baudone, Fabio Bucchioni, Santi Casciano, Luca Cavallini, Paolo Cornetto, Raffaella Del Prete, Roberto Ferrari, Agostino Gallozzi, Michele Geromini, Daniele Marchiori, Mauro Marchiori, Andrea Morandi, Anna Giulia Randi, and Guido Raso.
A note from the association explains that during the proceedings, the 2025 final budget was approved, which shows a progressively improving financial position compared to previous years, also thanks to the constant growth of the membership base, which now exceeds 110 member companies.
“I wish first of all to thank the members for their renewed trust and the entire Assiterminal structure for the great work done in these years,” Cognolato declared. “A path that has led the association to consolidate itself as the most representative entity in the Italian port-terminal sector, with membership growth exceeding 30% in the last two years. Particularly important – he continued – is the institutional positioning that Assiterminal has been able to build, becoming an authoritative, serious, and credible interlocutor for the port system, logistics, and institutions.”
The president also underlined “the importance of FS Logistix joining, which confirms an increasingly integrated vision between port terminals, logistics, and intermodality.”
During the Assembly, the strong interest of the sector in the first Executive Master in Port Terminal Management promoted by Assiterminal in collaboration with ForMare was also highlighted, an initiative that has already received the first expressions of interest from member companies.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, a networking evening took place in the capital at Terrazza Civita to celebrate the association’s first 25 years together with members, partners, and friends.
