The activity of Greek shipowner V. Marinakis spans the entire spectrum of the shipping industry. Beyond the recent orders for containership construction, Capital Maritime & Trading Corp. acquired 50% of another shipping company.
Specifically, Capital Offshore, a subsidiary of Capital Maritime, acquired 50% of the German United Offshore Support GmbH (UOS), from Hayfin Capital Management LLP (Hayfin). According to a UOS announcement, the company is headquartered in Germany and manages Offshore Support Vessels.
Upon completion of the agreement, the new company will be named UOS Capital GmbH (UOS Capital). This collaboration marks the emergence of a new company with a fleet of 30 vessels, which will provide full technical services, crewing services, as well as commercial management.
