Oslo-listed very large gas carrier (VLGC) specialist Avance Gas has extended the variable time charter for one of its vessels.
Avance Gas said that the charter for the 2015-VLGC Chinook which was supposed to expire in July 2024 would be extended by one year.
According to the company, the end of the extended deal with an unnamed energy major will now take place in July 2025.
The new time charter period will also align with the drydocking window for the ship which is expected to take place in mid-2025.
John Fredriksen-controlled Avance Gas owns and operates a fleet of fourteen VLGCs and two dual-fuel newbuilds for delivery in 2024 and four mid-sized units set for delivery in 2025 and 2026.
