The company is betting on the ferries Margarita Salas, Abel Matutes and Rusadir
Barcelona – Baleària takes a new step forward in its decarbonization strategy, by regularly introducing bioLNG into its operations. Starting in September, the ferries Margarita Salas, Abel Matutes and Rusadir, equipped with dual fuel engines, are sailing using exclusively this renewable fuel. The company has purchased 132 gigawatt hours (GWh) of bioLNG, a quantity that will allow the three units to operate at zero emissions until December 2025. This volume, supplied over just four months, corresponds to 13% of the total LNG consumption of Baleària’s entire gas fleet in 2024.
