Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) is further expanding its fleet and has recently officially taken over the technical management of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). This FSRU is operated by Pronav, a company under the Schulte Group focused on LNG vessel management.
Currently, there are only slightly over 50 FSRUs in operation worldwide, with very few managed by third-party ship management companies. The FSRU “Turquoise P,” now managed by BSM, was built in 2019 and is owned by Ireland’s Pardus Energy Ltd. It is currently deployed at the LNG terminal in Etki Liman, near İzmir, Turkey, in the Aegean Sea. The vessel is 294 meters long and has a cargo tank capacity of 170,000 cubic meters.

An FSRU is a ship-based facility capable of receiving, storing liquefied natural gas, and regasifying it for delivery onshore. The LNG terminal at Etki Liman is connected to the Turkish national natural gas grid and is crucial for the energy supply of the İzmir region, especially during peak usage periods or seasonal fluctuations. Therefore, the unconditional availability and reliability of this facility are top priorities.
Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, Pronav has long specialized in the management of large LNG carriers. It has earned high recognition from global energy giants, LNG charterers, and terminal operators for its exceptional operational safety, quality assurance, reliability, and efficiency. The company possesses over 25 years of experience in the technical management and crew provisioning of various types of LNG carriers, encompassing new-generation vessels equipped with dual-fuel engines (MEGI and X-DF), slow-speed diesel vessels with 100% reliquefaction units (Q-Flex), and traditional steam-powered vessels (including Moss-type and membrane tank types).
