Russian ships can no longer access US ports, states President Joe Biden. The US thus follows in Europe’s footsteps, tightening measures against Russia following Ukraine invasion.
The US once again takes action against Russia, banning all Russian vessels from entering US ports.
Such was the statement by US President Joe Biden’s in relation to a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal Thursday.
Like the EU, the US thus prohibits all Russian operated, registered and owned ships from US port calls as of April 28.
”Today, I’m announcing that the United States will ban Russian-affiliated ships from our ports, as they did in Europe,” said Biden.
”That means no ship – no ship that sails under the Russian flag or that is owned or operated by Russian interests will be allowed to dock in a United States port or access our shores. None. None,” added the president.
