ICEX, the Port Authority of Bilbao, the multimodal logistics cluster UniportBilbao and the Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster organized a workshop to share innovative logistics technological solutions with Basque companies and thus improve their competitiveness at the headquarters of the Port Authority of Bilbao.
The event was inaugurated by Marta Valero, Director of Infrastructure and Industrial Technology at ICEX (España Exportación e Inversiones), an organization that helps companies by offering information, training, promotion and support programs for their internationalization; together with Andima Ormaetxe, Director of Operations, Sales, Logistics and Strategy of the Port Authority of Bilbao.
It was the sixth in a series of itinerant workshops throughout Spain organized by ICEX España, Exportación e Inversiones, which began in Madrid and have since traveled through the cities of Algeciras, Valencia, Zaragoza and Vigo.
Disruptions in logistics chains caused by the pandemic and subsequent geopolitical events have led to a global reorganization of value chains. As a result, the situation has been reviewed and solutions have been explored, as presented in this workshop. The event provided an opportunity for companies to share strategies and experiences related to the introduction of new disruptive technologies and their direct impact on supply chain efficiency.
This activity, framed within ICEX’s strategy to promote the internationalization of the logistics and supply chain sector, is the result of the organization’s active listening to companies in the sector, which see it as a strategic partner that supports them in their internationalization process.
