BOC seizes P100 M worth of counterfeit goods in Pasay

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized counterfeit goods worth P100 million worth on May 25 in Pasay City.

Armed with Letters of Authority (LOA) issued by BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, the implementing team from BOC Port of Manila (POM) Enforcement and Security Services, POM-Formal Entry Division, Legal Service, and the Philippine Coast Guard inspected the warehouses at #115 Cuneta Avenue, Pasay City, the agency said in a statement.

Before sealing the warehouse, an initial inventory of goods was conducted; found at the site were various counterfeit shoes, bags, and clothing apparel bearing the brands Gucci, Havaianas, Marvel, Nike, and Adidas, among others.

Representatives of the warehouses were ordered by the implementing team to provide importation documents and other pertinent permits covering all seized counterfeit goods found at the premises.

Further investigation is underway for other possible violations of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (Republic Act 8293) and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863).
