The Companhia Docas da Paraíba, the entity in charge of the Porto de Cabedelo, received a recognition in the “Best ESG Performance” category of the International Port Performance Congress, promoted by the University of Valencia (Spain), the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the University of Southern Santa Catarina (Unisul).
According to the company, this award reinforces the new phase that the maritime facility is going through, consolidating itself under the administration of the Government of Paraíba as a modern, sustainable facility with strong potential for social transformation. The Paraíba terminal is the first public port in Brazil to operate 100% on photovoltaic energy, which guarantees cost reduction, energy autonomy and a firm commitment to the environmental agenda.
“This recognition shows that the new Porto de Cabedelo is well on its way to the future. We are living through the largest investment cycle in the port’s 90-year history, with infrastructure modernization, sustainability and a firm commitment to the population. Our port is clearly prepared for a new level of competitiveness and development,” highlighted the general director of Companhia Docas da Paraíba, Ricardo Barbosa.
With over R$ 200 million in investments, the maritime facility assured that it continues to expand its operational capacity, strengthening its strategic position and building a new history for the port sector in Paraíba.
