Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) is expanding its fleet and, for the first time, has taken on the technical management of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). The vessel is managed by Pronav, BSM’s Ship Management Center, which operates exclusively large-scale LNG carriers from its office in Hamburg.
The FSRU Turquoise P, built in 2019 and owned by Pardus Energy, is located at the Etki Liman LNG terminal, in the Turkish Aegean Sea, near Izmir. It is 294 meters long and has a loading capacity of 170,000 cubic meters.
“This is a milestone for Pronav and the entire Schulte Group. We are proud that our years of experience in managing LNG carriers and our impeccable safety record have allowed us to take on the technical management of the Turquoise P,” said Martin Roolvink, managing director of Pronav.
Roolvink emphasizes that the LNG segment is subject to the most demanding requirements in the industry and that the highest standards of safety and quality are key in the management of LNG carriers.
The Etki Liman LNG terminal, connected to the national gas grid of Turkey, is critical for the supply to the Izmir region, especially during demand peaks or seasonal fluctuations.
