A Turkish contractor has taken delivery of its first multipurpose tug to join its fleet of diving support vessels that support marine construction and underwater projects
BTT Marine has become a tugboat owner for the first time, introducing a newbuild Turkish-built multipurpose tug to its growing vessel fleet that supports subsea and towage work in Turkey and the Middle East.
The Istanbul-headquartered contractor has added Deco, a 24-m tugboat with 31 tonnes of bollard pull from a single-drum towing winch used for vessel and barge towage and anchor handling.

Deco has a beam of 9 m, a draught of 3 m, a top speed of 12 knots, a Hidrokon HK90NS 14-tonne deck crane and other machinery for handling equipment to support diving, underwater construction and marine rescue services.
This tug was built at the Zonguldak Eregli Ustaoglu Shipyard with two main diesel high-speed Mitsubishi S12R-T2MPTK engines, each rated 1,230 kW, driving two fixed-pitch 1,800-mm diameter Kaplan propellers at the stern through Reintjes /LAF 665 gears.
Deco has a 90-kVA ERC bow thruster with a 600-mm diameter propeller and two Baudoin 125-kVA generator sets and two Weichai CFFJ30J-W5 30 kVA gensets, plus capacity to store 66 m3 of diesel fuel and 44 m3 of fresh water.
It has accommodation for 10 crew members and its bridge equipment was supplied by Samyung including a radar, compass, echosounder, intercom and VHF radio.
