Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore and Seatrium Technology & Innovation have signed an MoU to cooperate on advanced engineering, technology and new product design for the marine and offshore sector, according to Seatrium.
The agreement covers sustainable energy solutions and digital economy applications for future offshore and marine assets.
Bureau Veritas will provide technical guidance, compliance support and independent verification as Seatrium works through technical requirements, regulatory frameworks and international standards.
The MoU is also intended to support selected concepts through Approval in Principle, technology qualification, product line optimisation, manufacturing readiness and type approval strategies.
The companies will run workshops, technical briefings and training sessions to build technical capability around emerging technologies.
Aziz Merchant, executive vice president, technology and new product development at Seatrium, said the collaboration supports Seatrium’s R&D agenda in sustainable energy solutions, digital economy initiatives, new technology qualification and sustainability advisory.
Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore is the marine and offshore division of Bureau Veritas, providing classification, certification, compliance and risk management services for ships and offshore assets.
Seatrium Technology & Innovation is part of Seatrium, a Singapore engineering group active in offshore, marine and energy infrastructure, including offshore platforms, vessel projects and new energy developments.
