Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has advertised for an emissions compliance verifier position based in Piraeus, Greece, to handle verification work related to maritime environmental regulations.
The role involves verifying emissions data in the maritime sector and ensuring compliance with the IMO Data Collection System (DCS) and the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulations.
Responsibilities include reviewing and approving monitoring plans and emissions reports, conducting risk assessments, and applying risk-based verification approaches. The position also requires keeping up to date with environmental legislation and EU ETS developments, and preparing compliance reports for stakeholders.
Candidates should hold a degree in naval architecture and marine engineering or environmental engineering. Required qualifications include knowledge of MARPOL Annex VI, IMO DCS guidelines, and EU /EU ETS regulations.
Experience with fuel oil consumption data, Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) compliance, and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) is also specified as necessary. The role requires competence in monitoring plan assessment, emissions verification, and materiality and uncertainty analysis.
